此项目为香港应用科技研究院内企业及消费电子组及集成电路设计组的合作项目。项目为不同的团队达到各自的需要，但团队的协同效应让应科院能成立一个以多媒体应用为主的技术中心，以提供一套完整的先进技术研究、算法与设计架构开发、系统与应用及系统集成芯片的产生。 项目会与企业及消费电子组共同开发由PC软件或可编成处理器为主的H.264主结构及高清结构的知识产权以硬件FPGA/RTL模式提供H.264编解码解决方案。项目并提供仿真平台于算法及软、硬件的知识产权开发。
